<Provide valuable information, not fluff, and don’t forget your call to action

this is the difference between success and failure with most blogs.

point well made.

regards,

I wonder if there are any sites to post papers where businesses that publish newsletters can grab them and put them in their newsletters or send them out to customers

Agree with you - blogs can promote white papers, but also keep the topic (and the discussion, if lucky) going for a longer period that the white paper could do in itself. An excellent marketing combination!

I think your point about so many bloggers providing "fluff" is right on target. I sort of think of blogs as "mini" whitepapers.

If you have information to warrant a white paper, why not offer tidbits of that information on your blog.

Each blog post could end with an offer or your call to action for the complete white paper

I think too many blogs strive for that ever elusive "conversation." Provide solid, useful information - make the blog a resource and the "conversation" will follow.

I'm curious to hear other tactics people use for promoting white papers on their blog. I'd add to my tips, using your blog to present audio and video tips relating to your white paper in order to whet the reader's appetite to download the paper.
